Jean Haluska is a multimedia artist from Mt. Vernon, NY. She has extensive experience in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, audio, video, and immersive environments (incorporation of audio, video, and sculpture with movement and performance). Her undergraduate degrees are in painting, printmaking, and philosophy. She presented a paper at a professional philosophy conference in Chicago in 1998. This theory is inseparable from her art and it animates her person. Jean received full funding to complete her MFA at the Ohio State University, where she taught for 4 years. She is incredibly passionate about teaching. It is her calling, second only to the continued creation of her work. Jean started the is the education program at 3rd Ward, a gorgeous facility that is a workspace, exhibition space, and education center for emerging and established artists. Travel is an important part of Jean's life. She's taken 2-7 month trips through Europe, Ecuador, Thailand, Uganda and the continental United States.
